All Across a Campus

I liked the days best
when the clouds hung low
touching the top branches of the trees.
I pictured the dew,
start there, and then move down the trunk
hopping leaf to leaf
slowing sprinkling the grass
when it reached it
below.
The sun filtered through
soft and light
all at the same time.
The air was heavy,
padded with water drops I though I'd missed.
It was my favorite kind of morning.
