At The Corner Of

I like that the morning sky
Is still too cool
To evaporate all the tiny pockets
Of lovely mist.

And the low fog blocks
Out the sun,

For a few morning hours

The white dust is calming
And not as harsh as the bright blue
That sometimes comes at this time of day

And if I could sit here
And ignore all my chores

I surely would

Before the red sun burns it away
The blanket-y mist
That I enjoy

More than a fresh blue sky.
