Silver and tan and red and later, yellow

How long since I ripped out my piercings.
Held the hoops out sideways
looked myself in the eye,
in the mirror. Counted
off so slow and YANKED.

The tear was so perfect
and clean, ear split in
two, and it was red and red and red.
