Blythdale

The key
was balanced on the door frame
so if a kid
locked themselves inside,
hands slick with lotion
or soap
or water
unable to turn the knob
they could
holler
and scream
until a tall adult
reached with ease,
for the key and released us,
this is the first time I felt saved.
