Rockies

Sun’s eclipse
destroyed the buildings.

Melted shadows ink
behind it.

Heard my mother call my
name once more.

Brushed and flossed so
I wouldn’t
(couldn’t)
lose my teeth.

Sun always sets sooner here.

The mountain’s peaks
harsh against ending light.

Getting in my own head again,
forgetting who I am,
how I am,

where it all is.
